Business bullets of Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine

  • CO2 emissions of only 49 g/km, qualifying for a 100% first year allowance;
  • 5% Benefit-in-Kind banding;
  • Eligible for £5,000 Plug-In Car Grant (PICG);
  • The world’s most comprehensive and technologically-advanced safety package as standard.

COMPANY car drivers who want luxury SUV comfort without getting clobbered on BIK can now order the super frugal Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine from Volvo Business Centres.

This top-of-the-range plug-in hybrid model offers first class travel with a claimed fuel economy of 134.5mpg and CO2 emissions of just 49g/km the lowest ever for a seven-seat SUV.

On top of this it boasts one of the most comprehensive and technologically sophisticated standard safety packages on the market.

The XC90 T8 Twin Engine is powered by a two-litre, four-cylinder supercharged and turbocharged petrol Drive-E power plant with an electric motor. The result is a total output of 407hp and, for the time being at least, buyers will qualify for the government’s Plug-In Car Grant (PICG) of £5,000 (see Plug gets pulled on plug-in grants) towards the purchase price of the vehicle which stands at £63,650.

Also, following tax changes which came into force on 01 April 2015, the XC90 T8 Twin Engine is one of the few cars in its segment to fall below the reduced 75 g/km capital allowance threshold.

This means it is eligible for a 100% first year allowance, meaning a company can offset the entire cost of purchase against its profits in the year of purchase and enjoy a significant tax advantage.
