Vauxhall hits back at the van criminals
VAUXHALL tops van makers for van security in 2011 British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards.
Vauxhall: keeps out thieves
Vauxhall named best manufacturer for van crime prevention
IF YOU don’t want criminals breaking into your van, or stealing it overnight, think about a Vauxhall van.
Because the sight of a Vauxhall van is enough to deter even the most determined thief, thanks to the level of vehicle security.
That’s according to the judges in the 2011 British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards (BIVSA). Vauxhall was the top overall van manufacturer for the first time with every variant in Vauxhall’s five model van range, including the British-built Astravan and Vivaro, plus Corsavan, Combo and the all-new Movano, fully satisfisfying the manufacturer awards selection criteria.
BIVSA, which is supported by UK insurance companies, is seen as the pinnacle for vehicle manufacturers in terms of recognition of their work in making vehicles more secure and reducing vehicle crime.
Mike Briggs, vehicle security manager at Thatcham, said: “The standard of security across the ranges of all the major vehicle manufacturers continues to impress.”
“Van manufacturers take vehicle security very seriously and strive to stay one step ahead of criminals,” added Paul Everitt, SMMT chief executive. “The sustained reduction in the number of vehicle thefts demonstrates the progress that has been made and today’s awards reflect the high priority security continues to have for all vehicle manufacturers.”
Steve Bryant, Vauxhall’s commercial vehicle brand manager, added: “This prestigious award shows Vauxhall has some of the most secure commercial vehicles on the market, giving peace of mind to both our customers and insurers alike.”
