Business car managers can access a new 16-page guide.
It’s designed to take businesses through some of the major issues likely to affect them in the coming months and years.
It has been produced by GE Commercial Finance Fleet Services.
The booklet, entitled ‘The Future of Fleet’, is aimed at larger companies and their bigger car fleets.
But it covers many areas that affect the small business sector.
“There are clearly a number of major issues that will affect businesses in many ways over the next few years,” commented Rich Green, managing director, GE Fleet. “The Future of Fleet” is designed to familiarise employers with these subjects and help them to plan ahead.”
The Future of Fleet covers
- Euro 5 and emissions taxation
- The growing influence of greener fuels
- Corporate social responsibility and clean fleet travel plans
- Intelligent vehicles that will help ‘co-pilot’ the driver

Also helping business reduce its travel impact on the environment is National Car Rental, the UK’s leading rental provider.
It is committed to running the newest vehicles to reduce CO2 emissions. “The average age of our cars is around three and a half months,” confirmed Frank Reynolds, SME Specialist, National.
“This allows us to capitalise on the latest advances being made by manufacturers to cut emissions and reduce our environmental impact.”
National’s carbon emission reductions
- 2002 average emissions per customer: 171g/km
- 2006 average emissions per customer: 158g/km
- A saving of 15 million kilograms of carbon emissions
- Introduction of fold-up motorised scooters for delivery driver returns – cutting out the need for a second vehicle, which reduces emissions and congestion
