City savings for businesses

  • Volvo City Safe cuts accidents by 28%
  • Businesses save as much in avoided extra costs;
  • Study of 160,000 traffic years proves technology’s value;
  • Insurance companies offer 20-25% discounts for users.

SAFETY features on Volvo cars are cutting accidents by more than a quarter, saving businesses with these as company cars just as much in additional costs.

For, as every business car manager will know, accidents can rack up a huge burden of extra costs in administration and insurance premiums plus time off work for injured employees and damaged vehicles.

Now one of the most comprehensive scientific studies performed on collision avoidance systems in cars reveals that Volvo’s standard City Safety technology reduces insurance claims for rear-end frontal collisions by 28%.

Based on real-life insurance claims data from the Swedish insurers If and Volvia, the study of City Safety performance illustrates the value of auto braking collision avoidance systems.

Volvo says the main benefit of City Safety is its ability to reduce the incidence of whiplash and other neck-related injuries caused by low-speed traffic accidents.
But the secondary benefit to Volvo SME company car fleet managers is a significant reduction in accident damage to business vehicles and the costs incurred.
