Business Car Manager road test verdict
The Porsche Panamera S-Hybrid makes a strong case for itself.
The plug-in hybrid drivetrain brings with it a series of financial benefits, but only for those with a pattern of use that makes it work – mainly shorter, and especially London-based journeys.
Drivers regularly doing long motorway journeys that extend far beyond the S-Hybrid’s electric-only range will probably be better served by the Panamera Diesel, while those looking for the sportiest drive will probably go for the GTS or Turbo models.
Nevertheless, even apart from the financial benefits, the S E-Hybrid, with its ability to run quietly on electric power and call upon the combined powerful shove of both electric and petrol motors when required, has a distinctive appeal all of its own.
Not least, we suspect for some SME owners, the lure of 100% first year capital allowances…
