While the focus on Jaguar has recently been on its all-new 3 Series contender the XE, Jaguar took the opportunity of the New York International Auto Show to introduce a new version of its 5 series rival, the XF.

The new Jaguar XF is 190kg lighter, more efficient and lower than the outgoing model. The newcomer is fractionally shorter than the old model but despite that it offers more passenger space inside.

Better still, Jaguar has introduce its range of four-cylinder diesel Ingenium engines to the XF, which can deliver up to 70mpg and emit only 104g/km of CO2 in its most efficient trim. The XE inspired exterior has been paired with a brand new cabin design, too. A huge 12.3-inch infotainment system dominates the dash, with the British brand also claiming the new XF is the most connected car it’s ever built.
