ELECTRIC vans are a rarity on the used business van market. So when an a Smith Edison E-van was recently offered for sale at BCA’s Blackbushe auction house, there were plenty of interested watchers to see what sort of price an electric van might fetch.

The 2008 registered long-wheel base, high roof van in white, based on the Ford Transit chassis, was entered for sale by a leasing company. It had been used for courier work in London and had covered just 14,000 miles from new.

The Smith Edison van was offered with a comprehensive service history and records of the conversion, and was sold for £10,100.
