New Viva ecoFlex model makes a smart business choice

The name pays homage to Vauxhall’s original Viva made in the 60s and 70s

SMALL businesses and SMEs running their eyes down the model list for the appealing new Vauxhall Viva city car will likely find themselves honing in on one particular model, and that’s the Viva 1.0i SE ecoFLEX.

Why?

Because it takes the new Viva city car package and gives it a subtle uplift in terms of economy and CO2 which, in turn, have a positive effect on the all important company car and cost of ownership numbers.

Vauxhall is keeping the new Viva format pure and simple: just the one 1.0-litre petrol engine with 5-speed manual transmission within the compact new 5-door shell.

There are also just two trim levels: SE and SL, the latter, a nostalgic hark back to the days of the original Vivas (HA, HB and HC), from 1963 through to 1979.

In the class of 2015, the Viva kicks off as the good value, well equipped, decent-to-drive 1.0i SE with headline price of £7995 OTR.

A couple of models up we find this 1.0 SE ecoFLEX: essentially the same car, save for some detail refinements to improve the car’s eco performance. Such as, an extra front lip spoiler and extended roof spoiler. The tyres also switch to ultra low rolling resistance spec. The changes bump the OTR price to £8170. But for the business drivers, there are actually some useful savings to be made.
