Porsche GT racer for fast-moving entrepreneurs

The perfect sports car for fast-moving entrepreneurs makes its debut at the Geneva Motor Show (March).

The latest version of the Porsche 911 GT3 goes on sale in the UK this autumn. It will cost L81,914.

The Porsche GT3 is essentially a track racing car made road-legal. Porsche says the second generation of the Type 997 911 GT3 is the most sporting and dynamic road-going 911 ever.

Power is up 20hp to 435hp thanks to a 200cc engine size increase. The flat-six engine is now 3.8-litres.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 accelerates from a standstill to 62mph (100 km/h) in 4.1 seconds. Top speed is 194mph.

The new GT3 also has the latest Porsche Stability Management (PSM) system. It allows the driver to deactivate both Stability Control (SC) and Traction Control (TC) in separate steps.

However, the Porsche 911 GT3 has been made more suitable for everyday business life. The GT3 features an optional lift system for the front axle.

This increases the GT3’s ground clearance by 30 millimetres (approx 1.2 inches) at the touch of a button. It allows for driving over bumpy surfaces or steep gradients: for example into an underground garage.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 goes on sale in the autumn 2009. It will cost from £81,914.
