Launched at Amsterdam’s European Road Transport Show, the new Volkswagen Caddy Maxi will go on UK sale next year.

The new Caddy Maxi is 470mm longer than the standard Caddy for extra carrying capacity.

Overall length is now 4873mm. This gives a cargo bay of 4.2 cubic metres.

Load floor measures 2250mm. This can be extended to 3000mm thanks to a Vario partition system and folding passenger seat.

The Caddy Maxi can carry a load weighing up to 800kg. With a trailer this increases to 1500kg.

Engines are likely to include two diesels: a 105PS 1.9-litre TDI; and a 140PS 2.0-litre TDI. Full UK specification and prices will follow later.

The new VW Caddy Maxi

  • Extra 470mm length over standard Caddy
  • Load floor of 2250mm extending to 3000mm
  • 800kg load weight
  • Standard Caddy will continue
