THE estate car version of the Vauxhall Insignia goes on sale from 10 April.
Called the Sports Tourer, the model boosts the Insignia range to three: saloon; hatch; and estate.
Prices start at £17,865 for the Insignia Exclusiv 1.8i 16v VVT model.

In addition, a small capacity and lightweight 1.6-litre turbo engine will be added. The 1.6 Turbo engine produces 180PS.
The estate Insignia provides a 540-litre load area with the rear seats up. With the rear seats dropped, the volume goes up to 1530-litres.
A Towing Pack will be optional on Sports Tourer Exclusiv, SE and Elite models. The Towing Pack incorporates a trailer stability programme, automatic self-levelling rear suspension and a retractable tow bar.
The Sports Tourer’s maximum towing weights, using a braked trailer, range from 1350kgs for the 1.8-litre to 1800kgs for the 2.0-litre Turbo with Adaptive 4X4.
All Sports Tourer models come with standard anti-skid ESP and anti-lock ABS brakes, automatic headlights, electric driver’s seat height adjuster, and cruise control. In addition, each model features the following:
Insignia Sports Tourer S
Spec includes: air con; CD/audio; power mirrors; split rear seats (60:40); on-board computer; cruise; leather trimmed steering wheel; and 16-inch steel wheels.
Insignia Sports Tourer Exclusiv
As S trim but includes: climate control; 17-inch wheels; front centre armrest with storage facility; and interior ambient lighting.
SE
SE includes: 17-inch alloys with 225/55 tyres or 18-inch alloy wheels with 245/45 tyres as a no-cost option; electronic handbrake; rain sensitive windscreen wipers; electric rear windows; electric passenger’s seat height adjuster; DAB digital radio; Flexride standard on 2.0 Turbo petrol engine.
Elite
The Elite model builds on the SE, adding: leather; eight way electrically adjustable driver’s seat; dual zone climate control; front and rear parking sensors; Intelligent Adaptive Forward Lighting; fog lights; and electrically foldable door mirrors. FlexRide (Adaptive Stability Technology) is standard on the 2.0 Turbo and 2.8 V6 petrol engines. 4X4 standard on the 2.8 V6 model.
SRi
Sports seats; perforated leather sports steering wheel; alloy covered pedals; 17-inch alloy wheels with 225/55 tyres or 18-inch alloys with 245/45 tyres as a no-cost option; climate control; electric rear windows; fog lights; lowered sports chassis by 15mm. FlexRide (Adaptive Stability Technology) standard on the 2.0 Turbo petrol engine; available as an option on all other SRi engines.
