The cars thieves love to hate
AUDI might make desirable cars. But for car thieves, the sight of an Audi is a complete turn-off. </p><p> Because Audi makes the most secure cars. Officially and continuously.</p><p>But Citroen, Ford, SEAT, Toyota and VW also make cars that lock out thieves. However, Audi is the car maker thieves love to hate most. For the fourth successive year, Audi was named Best Manufacturer in the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards. </p><p> The awards ceremony recognises the efforts of manufacturers in making their vehicles more resilient to vehicle crime. Audi was given the award with nine fully compliant models in its range of cars: the A3; A4; A5; R8; TT; Q5; Q7; A6; and A8. </p><p> The awards were made by Thatcham, the research organisation targeted at containing or reducing the cost of motor insurance claims.</p><p> The Innovation Award was won by the Volkswagen Group for its Vehicle Secure Indicator (VSI). </p><p> VSI is a new standard feature on all Audi Q7, A6 and A8 models, as well as Volkswagen Touareg and Phaeton models. The electronics inside the key fob maintains a record of whether the car has been locked and alarmed. </p><p> By simply pressing a button on the key fob and looking at the LED light indicator, an owner can check
