The green low-down on your business cars

IF YOU want to work out how environmentally driven your business cars really are, then this could come in handy: GreenCARE.

GreenCARE is an online analysis tool that allows you to access online data on your business cars.

It’s being launched by ING Car Lease.

What’s useful about this online tool is that you can compare your cars against a range of averages, including all of the many thousands od cars on ING’s books, enabling you to see variance as a percentage.

For businesses concerned about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and environmental impact reduction, then GreenCARE clearly has some value.

Don Potts, an environmental expert, said this about GreenCARE: “There are a lot of carbon measurement tools around now but ING’s solution really takes the issue of carbon reduction to the next level. GreenCARE sets a new standard for business car managers serious about reducing their carbon footprint.”

ING Car Lease says it is working on GreenCARE Mk2, which will enable companies to use scenario planning to assess the impact of changing vehicles and annual mileage as well as whole life cost impact. ING says this will will allow business car managers to plan cost reductions as well managing down the environmental impact of their business cars.

The major drawback of this innovative green analysis tool is that GreenCARE is only available to customers of ING Car Lease.
